What is the Tax Report?
Updated over a week ago

Your Tax Details (for Tax Filing) report summarizes all of the income, expenses, and mileage that you’ve tracked in Hurdlr. It contains all of the details that you’ll need to file your own taxes or have an accountant/tax preparer file for you.

The report is broken up into seven main tabs that contain all of the data that you have tagged as Business/Personal in Hurdlr. Untagged trips and transactions are not reflected in the totals and will be listed in the Pending tabs of this report.

Summary

The first tab is the Summary. This tab contains the summary level details for business income, expenses (categorized by the IRS’ tax categories), and mileage. To view the detailed lists of these items, you’ll need to look at the other tabs.

Business Income List

This tab lists all of the income transactions that you’ve tagged as Business. It includes all details like business, client, description, date, and amount.

Personal Income List

This tab lists all of the income transactions that you’ve tagged as Personal.

Business Expense List

This tab lists all of the expenses that you’ve tagged as Business. It includes all details like tax category, business, client, merchant, description, receipt link, date, and amount.

Personal Expense List

This tab lists all of the expenses that you’ve tagged as Personal.

Business Mileage List

This tab lists all of the trips that you’ve tagged as Business. It includes all details like date, business, client, description, car, start/end location, duration, start/end time, distance, and deduction. At the bottom, it includes the total mileage and total deduction.

Personal Mileage List

This tab lists all of the trips that you’ve tagged as Personal. If you’re tracking personal mileage categories like charity or medical, you will see the corresponding personal itemized deduction reflected.

Since this report is a spreadsheet, you can use Sort & Filter tools in your spreadsheet software to manipulate the data however you’d like (e.g., if you only want to see trips tagged to one of your vehicles, you can filter your trips on one of the mileage tabs to show only that vehicle).
