For Huawei devices, it's important to check these settings to ensure your phone is not preventing Hurdlr from running: Protected Apps, Battery Optimization, AutoStart, Battery Saver, and Lock Screen Cleanup.
Protected Apps
Some devices have a setting called Protected Apps within the Battery Manager Settings. This feature prevents apps from running in the background when the screen is turned off and can prevent trips from being tracked. To allow Hurdlr to run follow the steps below:
Open your device's Settings
Tap Battery Manager
Tap Protected Apps
Tap Hurdlr and set it to on
Battery Optimization
Some Huawei devices have built-in battery optimization settings that will shut down "the activity of seldom used apps." This feature can prevent apps like Hurdlr from being able to run properly in the background. To allow Hurdlr to run follow the steps below:
Open your device's Settings
Tap Battery
Tap the menu button (⋮)
Tap Battery Optimization
Tap All Apps
Find Hurdlr in the list and disable the feature
Autostart
This setting would allow Hurdlr to start, even if your phone had previously shut it down from running in the background.
Go to settings
Permissions
Autostart
Enable Auto-launch, Secondary launch, and Run in background for Hurdlr
Battery Saver
This feature will turn off location services for your apps automatically, so Hurdlr is not able to run when it's enabled. It can be triggered automatically without your knowledge when your battery is low, so to avoid any issues, you should disable it. You can disable it by following the steps below:
Open your device's Settings
Tap Battery
Tap Battery Saver
Turn it off to disable it
Lock Screen Cleanup
This setting will close down any apps that are open once you lock your screen. In order to run the mileage tracker in the background while the screen is locked, you need to make sure that this feature is disabled for Hurdlr. You can check by following the steps below:
Open your device’s Settings
Tap on Battery
Tap on Close apps after screen lock
Make sure Hurdlr is disabled
