Your Hurdlr Pro subscription includes the cost of your tax filing for federal and one state through TaxSlayer.

If you are filing a Schedule C to report your business income and expenses, you can follow the steps below to use your Hurdlr report to file via TaxSlayer. IMPORTANT NOTE: These steps only outline the initial set up and the Schedule C data that is tracked in Hurdlr. There may be additional data that you need to calculate or enter manually based on your business.

  1. Export Schedule C Report from Hurdlr

    1. Tap 3 dots in top left corner of mobile app and select Reports or click Reports on the left side of the screen in the web app

    2. Select Tax Reports

    3. If you have multiple businesses, click “All Businesses” and select one business

    4. Download Schedule C report for 2022

    5. If you have multiple businesses, repeat these steps to download a report for each business

  2. Login if you have an existing TaxSlayer account by clicking the “Log In” button or create a new TaxSlayer account by clicking the “Start for Free” button

  3. Start your 2022 return

  4. Follow the prompts to agree to terms & conditions, enter your personal information, enter taxpayer information, select your filing status, enter dependent information (if applicable), enter IRS Identity Protection PIN (if applicable), confirm the information you’ve entered, and click continue.

  5. In the left side-bar menu, select Federal then select Income

  6. Scroll down to “Profit or Loss from Business” (Reported on Schedule C) and click the “Begin” button

8. Click the “Enter Myself” button

9. Enter your business details (ie. name, employer id (if applicable), address, and business type)

10. Click the “Begin” button next to Income

a. In the Gross receipts or sales text box, enter the number from Part I, Line 1 in your Hurdlr Schedule C report

11. If applicable, click the “Begin” button next to Cost of Goods Sold

a. Use Part III of your Hurdlr Schedule C report and your inventory records to complete this section

12. Click the “Begin” button next to General Expenses

a. In the Advertising text box, enter the number from Part II, Line 8 in your Hurdlr Schedule C report

b. In the Contract Labor text box, enter the number from Part II, Line 11 in your Hurdlr Schedule C report

c. In the Commission and fees text box, enter the number from Part II, Line 10 in your Hurdlr Schedule C report

d. In the Depletion text box, enter the number from Part II, Line 12 in your Hurdlr Schedule C report

e. In the Employee benefit programs text box, enter the number from Part II, Line 14 in your Hurdlr Schedule C report

f. Health Insurance expenses are typically included in the Employee benefit programs line item on the Schedule C, so you can disregard this field if you have tracked these expenses in Hurdlr since they are already accounted for in the Employee benefit programs line item

g. In the Insurance (other than health) text box, enter the number from Part II, Line 15 in your Hurdlr Schedule C report

h. Long-Term Care Insurance to be Carried to Adjustment can be disregarded unless you have tracked this expense outside of Hurdlr

i. In the Mortgage interest text box, enter the number from Part II, Line 16a in your Hurdlr Schedule C report

j. In the Other interest text box, enter the number from Part II, Line 16b in your Hurdlr Schedule C report

k. In the Legal and professional services text box, enter the number from Part II, Line 17 in your Hurdlr Schedule C report

l. In the Office expense text box, enter the number from Part II, Line 18 in your Hurdlr Schedule C report

m. In the Pension and profit sharing text box, enter the number from Part II, Line 19 in your Hurdlr Schedule C report

n. In the Rent or lease of equipment text box, enter the number from Part II, Line 20a in your Hurdlr Schedule C report

o. In the Rent or lease of property text box, enter the number from Part II, Line 20b in your Hurdlr Schedule C report

p. In the Repairs and maintenance text box, enter the number from Part II, Line 21 in your Hurdlr Schedule C report

q. In the Supplies text box, enter the number from Part II, Line 22 in your Hurdlr Schedule C report

r. In the Taxes and licenses text box, enter the number from Part II, Line 23 in your Hurdlr Schedule C report

s. In the Travel text box, enter the number from Part II, Line 24a in your Hurdlr Schedule C report

t. In the Meals (100%) text boxes, use the number from Part II, Line 24b in your Hurdlr Schedule C report and enter it into the appropriate meal percentage (Note: For 2022, all business meals are typically 100% deductible. For more details see instructions for line 24b here)

u. In the Utilities text box, enter the number from Part II, Line 25 in your Hurdlr Schedule C report

v. In the Wages text box, enter the number from Part II, Line 26 in your Hurdlr Schedule C report

13. Click the “Begin” button next to Car And Truck Expenses

a. Enter vehicle description and date the vehicle was placed into service

b. Use Part IV of your Hurdlr Schedule C report to enter your business miles before 7/1 and after 6/30

c. Check the box next to “Check if you have evidence to support your deduction”

d. Check the box next to “If yes, check if evidence is written”

14. If applicable, click the “Begin” button next to Other Expenses

a. Use the information in Part V of your Hurdlr Schedule C report to complete this section of TaxSlayer

15. After entering your data from your Hurdlr report, you can continue your tax return and enter any other details such as your W-2 income, personal deductions, etc. By clicking Federal on the left side-bar menu, you can choose to be guided or choose other forms you’d like to complete.

16. Once you have completed entering all of your information for federal and state and you are ready to submit your tax return, you can enter the code provided by Hurdlr (if you are a Hurdlr Pro user with tax filing included) in the promo code section. This will cover the cost of your e-file for federal and one state.
