While Hurdlr is meant to track your business finances and deductions, you can also use it to help track personal itemized deductions (like medical expenses and donations).

To track these types of expenses in Hurdlr:

  1. Navigate to the expense

  2. Make sure the expense is tagged as ‘Personal’

  3. Tap on the Category field

  4. Choose the personal category for the expense (such as Medicine, Charity, Health Professionals, etc.). You can also create your own personal categories, by following the steps here.

Hurdlr estimates your taxes based on your self-employed income and your business deductions. Personal itemized deductions (such as medical expenses or donations) that you track in Hurdlr (and may claim when you file your taxes) are not reflected in your self-employed tax estimates.
