How do I link Integrations (like Uber, Stripe, Square, etc.) to Hurdlr?
Updated over a week ago

If you are a Premium or Pro subscriber, you have access to automatic income and expense tracking. In addition to linking your bank accounts and credit cards, you can link direct income integrations to automate detailed income tracking.

Hurdlr currently offers direct integrations with Uber, Square, Stripe, and Shopify.

Other companies like Lyft, Airbnb, Amazon Flex, Shipt, Doordash, etc. do not currently make their income data available to third parties like Uber does, so there isn’t a direct income integration for those companies. However, you can still certainly track your finances for those businesses. To automatically track your business income for those businesses, you’ll want to link the bank account where your income is deposited from those jobs by following the steps here.

To Link an Integration

  1. On the mobile app, tap the 3 dots in the top left corner or on the web app, click the gear icon in the top right corner

  2. Select ‘Banks and Integrations’

  3. Click ‘+ Add Account’

  4. At the bottom of the list, choose the integration you want to link

  5. Follow the prompts to securely link your account

When you link one of the direct income integrations, the past 2 years of data (or your whole account history if your account is less than 2 years old) is automatically imported into Hurdlr. Each day, Hurdlr will automatically pull in new transactions/updates from the previous day.

Uber Integration

One convenient feature for Uber drivers is linking your Uber Partner account to track your earnings from Uber automatically. Adding your Uber Partner account only tracks earnings, not mileage (because Uber only records a portion of your deductible business mileage).

Hurdlr pulls the income earned each day between 12am-11:59pm local time, which may differ slightly from how Uber reports it for a particular day. As a result, you may see slight differences between your Uber account and Hurdlr for the daily totals.

The Uber integration works slightly differently depending on whether you’re a US or Canadian user.

Uber Integration for US Users

On your 1099, Uber reports your gross income (ie. income before Uber takes their fees), not your net income (ie. income Uber deposits into your bank account). Your Uber income pulls into Hurdlr the same way. You’ll see your gross income pulled into the Income Dashboard (Premium)/Money In Dashboard (Pro) and the related Uber Service Fee pulled into the Expenses Dashboard (Premium)/Money Out Dashboard (Pro). Note that this fee is deductible and should be tagged as business. If you subtract the Uber Service Fee expense from the gross income, it will match your net income/payout.

Uber Integration for Canadian Users

With your Uber account linked, your daily bottom-line income (fares, tips, surges, bonuses, and incentive pay minus Uber Service Fees) will automatically pull into Hurdlr. Since Canadian users can track sales tax, the income entry can be split into the income amount and the sales tax amount for the most accurate sales tax records. To enable automatic sales tax tracking in Hurdlr, follow the steps here.

Square Integration

Linking your Square account to Hurdlr is a smart and easy way to track your Square sales. The Square integration pulls in the total daily sales both processed via Square (including debit/credit card payments, Square gift card purchases, and invoice payments (only pull in once the invoice is paid in full)) and recorded in Square (including cash/check payments). This total is net of any refunds issued that day.

It’s only possible to link one Square account, however, data for all locations for that login/business will be pulled into Hurdlr.

The Square income integration does not include transactions from Square credit cards, Square savings accounts, or other expenses you incur through Square products. If you’d like to link other Square accounts, search for Square in the list of banks and link it that way.

The Square integration works slightly differently depending on whether you’re a US or Canadian user.

Square Integration for US Users

With the Square integration linked, your daily gross income (total income before Square takes its fees) pulls into the Income Dashboard (Premium)/Money In Dashboard (Pro), and the associated Square Fees pulls into the Expenses Dashboard (Premium)/Money Out Dashboard (Pro). Note that this fee is deductible and should be tagged as business. If you subtract the Square Fee expense in Hurdlr from the gross income, it will match your net income/payout.

Square Integration for Canadian Users

With the Square integration linked, your daily bottom-line Square income (gross income minus Square fees) will pull automatically into the Income Dashboard (Premium)/Money In Dashboard (Pro).

Since Canadian users can track sales tax, the income entry can be split into the income amount and the sales tax amount for the most accurate sales tax records. To enable automatic sales tax tracking in Hurdlr, follow the steps here.

Stripe Integration

Linking your Stripe account to Hurdlr is a smart and easy way to track your Stripe sales in a more detailed way. This integration pulls in each individual transaction (i.e. credit card payment, debit card payment, ACH, wire transfer, etc.) processed through Stripe. Any refunds you issue via Stripe will be automatically pulled into Hurdlr as an ‘Income Refund’.

The Stripe integration works slightly differently depending on whether you’re a US or Canadian user.

Stripe Integration for US Users

With your Stripe account linked, the gross income for each transaction you process via Stripe will pull into the Income Dashboard (Premium)/Money In Dashboard (Pro), and the associated Stripe Fees will pull into the Expenses Dashboard (Premium)/Money Out Dashboard (Pro). Note that this fee is deductible and should be tagged as business). If you subtract the Stripe Fee expense in Hurdlr from the gross income, it will match your net income/payout for that transaction.

Stripe Integration for Canadian Users

With the Stripe integration linked, the bottom-line Stripe income (gross income minus Stripe Fees) will pull into Hurdlr for each transaction processed via Stripe.

Since the Canadian users can track sales tax, the income entry can be split into the income amount and the sales tax amount for the most accurate sales tax records. To enable automatic sales tax tracking in Hurdlr, follow the steps here.

Shopify Integration

Linking your Shopify account in Hurdlr is a smart and easy way to track your Shopify sales. The integration pulls your Shopify Payouts per invoice (ie. when Shopify deposits a payout into your bank account). Only payments processed and collected through Shopify are reflected in the income data that pulls into Hurdlr, so manual cash/check payments not paid out by Shopify would not be reflected in the data pulled into Hurdlr. Additionally, any refunds you issue will automatically update the total of the original payout transaction. If you issue a full refund of an invoice, it will delete the income record.

With the Shopify integration linked, the gross income processed and paid out via Shopify is pulled into the Income Dashboard (Premium)/Money In Dashboard (Pro) and the associated Shopify Fee (ie. portion Shopify keeps) is pulled into the Expenses Dashboard (Premium)/Money Out Dashboard (Pro). Unlike some of the other integrations Hurdlr offers, the Shopify integration works the same way for both US and Canadian users.
